Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or case number entered into a third-party search tool is sent to the provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and returns any result under its own service. Carroll County Court Docket does not retain or log the search terms entered through those tools.
Messages and Contact Submissions
This site does not receive court-record requests or process submissions for court business. Official requests must use the responsible court's published route. No court case record is collected through this site.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, server and analytics systems may receive technical information about the visit, including:
- The IP address assigned to the device.
- The browser, device type, and operating system in use.
- Pages viewed and the time spent on those pages.
- The referring site, when one is supplied.
- The date and time of each page view.
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files stored by a browser. They can help measure how visitors use the site, including which pages receive visits and where visits end. Analytics services may aggregate that traffic information. Browser settings can block cookies, although some site features may then work differently.
What We Do With This Data
Technical and submitted information may be used for ordinary site operations, including:
- Operating, maintaining, and improving the site.
- Sending a search query to the provider selected by the visitor.
- Reviewing traffic patterns and site performance.
- Diagnosing and correcting technical problems.
- Serving advertisements that may be relevant to a visitor's interests.
No Court-Record Data on File
This site does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of Carroll County court dockets or personal case records. It provides general information about locating the court and clerk that hold an official record. In Ohio, court case records are governed principally by Rules of Superintendence 44 and 45; R.C. 149.43 supplies the general public-office inspection and copy baseline for administrative records. Neither body of law turns this site into a court-record custodian or a consumer reporting agency.
Third-Party Search Partners
Search boxes may be operated by outside providers. Information entered into one of those tools is subject to that provider's privacy policy, retention practices, and sharing rules rather than this policy. Carroll County Court Docket does not control those practices. Review the provider's policy before submitting a query.
Links to Other Websites
The site links to local clerk pages, court portals, Ohio judiciary materials, and third-party search tools. A link takes a visitor to a separate service governed by that service's own privacy policy. Review that policy before giving the other service personal information.
Advertising partners may also measure activity across websites to provide interest-based advertising. That activity occurs on their systems, not on the court systems described here.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be disclosed to the following recipients when necessary:
- Search partners that process a query a visitor chooses to run.
- Analytics providers used to measure traffic and performance.
- Advertising networks that place advertisements on the site.
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires disclosure.
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security practices are used to protect information collected through the site. No internet-connected system is fully secure, however, and no promise can be made that an unauthorized access event will never occur.
Users Under 18
This site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If information from a minor is believed to have been submitted, it may be removed when the issue is brought to the site's attention.
Your Data Rights
Applicable law may provide rights concerning personal data held by a private site, including rights to request access, correction, deletion, or an opt-out from certain processing. Those possible rights do not change how Carroll County court files are accessed. For a court case record, Ohio Rules of Superintendence 44 and 45 control public access and remote availability; R.C. 149.43 is the general baseline for administrative records and does not bypass court-record restrictions.
- Request access to personal information held about you, where applicable.
- Ask that inaccurate personal information be corrected.
- Request deletion of personal information, subject to applicable law.
- Exercise an applicable opt-out right for certain data processing.
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised as site practices change. A revised version becomes effective when posted on this page.
